Two hundred kilometers per day (Tuesday March 23, 2004)

Altynai reached over 200 hundred kilometers yesterday again and is still flying over India. Iristu reaches similar speed. It is interesting that both our storks divert northward from the traces which they followed when flying to wintering grounds. It looks as if they wanted to "cut it" somewhat more eastern to avoid the stops in Amudarya and Syrdarya - and mainly to shorten their way...
