The sixth day (Shuvuun Devaa, Sunday, July 18 2004)
We endeavoured for five days in a scorched steppe of Khustai National Park and neighbouring Shuvuun Devaa (Bird's gap) to trap and mark the second Mongolian stork in forty degrees heats. A strong storm came this night and it seemed that our goal got even more distant...
It did not look good without the storm either - and that was why Gomboo and Premek started to search for other nests north of Ulaan Baatar the day before yesterday; still we do not know if they succeeded.
But this happened many times before, near Kluchiky with Iristu list time: we loose our hope the same moment the good luck turns our way. Today we succeeded - and Franta in the first place - to trap the second stork, and it flew away with its 'backpack' a few moments ago.
