Nothing new (Monday October 14, 2002)

There has been no new development since Petr flew a bit up the river Syrdarya: Katerina is still South of the Chinese town of Aks, Roman is North-West of Bayram-Ali in Turkmenistan, and Petr is staying to the West of Jana-Kurgan v Kazakhstan.

And what is the weather like in these places? Katerina is enjoying daytime highs of 20 degrees Celsius, and night time lows of around 6 degrees Celsius. However, the temperatures are expected to fall below zero in the middle of the week - will it make Katerina set off for the South? Roman is in Karakum where the temperatures range from 25 to 30 degrees Celsius during the day and from 10 to 15 degrees at night. And finally, the weather is quite bad at Syrdarya where Petr is taking a rest - the afternoon highs reach between 12 and 18 degrees Celsius, but the temperatures drop below the freezing point at night...

For those who follow the storks regularly and in detail: the Týdeník Rozhlas weekly has published a map in which you can draw the flights routes of Katerina, Roman and Petra.
