Marko is probably back on his nesting grounds (13th April 2007)

13. duben 2007

The last locations showed that Marko is some 430 km south from his nesting grounds. We think that at the moment he is most probably on his nest. We are waiting for the confirmation of this by receiving the bearings of the location of the stork from the Argos satellite system. Marko did not hesitate and during his journey did not require any longer stopovers in order to rest and regain energy. He managed to complete his spring journey which was over 2500 km long in a very short period of 15 to 19 days. He followed almost exactly the same route which he used in autumn to go to the south. We do not have exact information about his stops because the receiver is only functioning in three day intervals.
